I was never raised with any religious affiliation, so I never had to make a decision to become an atheist. I simply don’t believe in any gods. There are many reasons why people decide to become atheists, but for me it was simply a matter of using reason and logic to examine the evidence available and coming to the conclusion that there is no evidence for the existence of any gods. I also don’t find the concept of gods or religion to be particularly rational or logical, so that’s another factor that led me to atheism.

The reason I quitted religion was when my mom got hit by a car. I was 9 by the time and I was a catholic. I thought god was going to help her but she got big, bad bruises on her legs. But nothing worked and I got really mad and just dropped it.
There wasn’t one specific event or moment that led me to become an atheist. It was more of a gradual process that happened over time as I learned about science, philosophy, and history.
I gradually came to the realization that there is no evidence for gods or any other supernatural entities, and that the religious stories and doctrines didn’t make sense logically or scientifically.
I also found it ironic that many of the world’s worst atrocities had been carried out in the name of religion, so I lost faith in religion as a force for good in the world.
I decided to become an atheist after doing a lot of personal reflection and reading about different religions and religious beliefs. After studying various world religions, I found that there was no one religion that I could comfortably subscribe to, and I gradually began to question the existence of God altogether.
I also found that a lot of the arguments for the existence of God were weak and unconvincing, and that most religious believers tended to cherry-pick evidence to support their beliefs. In addition, I didn’t believe in an afterlife or in heaven or hell, which are key tenets of most religions.
Ultimately, I decided that atheism made more sense to me than any religion did, and it was more aligned with my personal values and ethics
